DESIGN NEWS
French Outlander Shawl design by me!
Description: This shawl is worked top down, beginning with smaller size needles to create a gatheredness-style at neck and then grows once on larger size needles. Design inspired by Dragonfly in Amber, Diana Gabaldon’s 2nd book in the Outlander series. Story takes the reader to lush, elegant 18th century Paris and then back again to the Scottish Highlands as the Battle of Culloden arises.
Pattern will take the knitter into close quarters of intrigue at the start, followed by a little labyrinth (much like the goings on at the French Court of Charles Stuart) then opens into pathways of knit and garter bands to illustrate the winding course from past to present in the novel. An eyelet border comes next, to bring the knitting traveller into a place of deep emotion and then swirls of ruffled edging soften the sadness as if in an everlasting hug.

ENDING THOUGHT Devotion on scripture John 15:4-5
Abide in Me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
